PC Moment: Known for its star-studded list of supporters and FOMO-inducing annual event (headline speakers of years past include Maya Angelou, Geena Davis, Lily Tomlin…), Black Tie Dinner’s Sneak Peek event revealed just a taste of what this year’s dinner has in store – and it did not disappoint.
Highlights included the announcement of Kuchling Humanitarian Award recipient Rev. Eric Folkerth (previous honorees include Debra Messing, Sharon Stone, and Cyndi Lauper, among others); Broadway legend Terrance McNally as the year’s Ally for Equality Award recipient; and former Secretary of the Army Eric Fanning as contributing speaker. Also announced: luxury items (including a Black Tie Dinner themed guitar signed by Taylor Swift) will be auctioned by Robbie Gordy, Associate Vice President and Auctioneer at Christie’s New York. As guests tried their best to contain their excitement in anticipation of the 2017 Black Tie Dinner (to be held Saturday, November 11), they enjoyed Tito’s inspired cocktails, desserts prepared by the Renaissance Dallas, and upbeat jams by DJ Stevie Ray.
