Chuck Norris and Glenn Beck Team Up to Kick Butt in Houston: Heroes Among Us Raise a Record $900,000

What: Kickstart Kids “Heroes Among Us” Gala
Where: Hilton Americas-Houston
PC Moment: Applause, applause for chairmen Jason and Courtney Fertitta and Keith and Alice Mosing, and Kickstart Kids founders Gena and Chuck Norris, who led the charge to a record of $900,000. Conservative radio and TV host Glenn Beck joined the fundraising by donating two signed portraits he did of Norris. Each sold in the five figures when Norris added a dinner at Beck’s studios in Dallas to the package. And then there was the Longhorn steer delivery that sold to two bidders for $12,000 each.
Honorees were Laura True and Mike King, former President George H. W. Bush and Barbara Bush, and four Kickstart Kids four instructors.
