BY // 03.27.18

What: The 8th Annual Symphony of Chefs Gala

Where: Sixty Five Hundred

PC Moment: With Dallas’ rich, varied culinary scene, choosing where to dine can be a real challenge – but for one night every year, the city’s top chefs come together under the same roof to create an epic meal for an important cause. The 8th Annual Symphony of Chefs benefiting KidLinks took place at Sixty Five Hundred, bringing 250 foodies to the venue to enjoy a globally-inspired four course meal, fine wine and entertainment.

The evening began with an hors d’oeuvres reception prepared by Chef Partner Justin Yoakum from Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, while musician Corey Breedlove played guitar.

As guests took their seats, co-chairs Vinette and Mike Montgomery and Georgia and Marc Lyons said opening remarks before turning the mic over to WFAA’s Good Morning Texas co-host Jane McGarry.

Twenty five featured dinner chefs prepared the four-course meal tableside, including honorary chef chair Emeritus Salvatore Gisellu of Urban Family Restaurants, honorary chef Tiffany Derry, Tre Wilcox, Chad Houser (Café Momentum), Michael Ehlert (The French Room), Anastacia Quiñones (The Cedars Social), Jacob Williamson (Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck) and more.

The courses were paired with more than 40 wines representing eight regions, donated by Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, D&E Fine Wine Group and Toro de Piedra wines from Chile.

The meal came to a sweet close with a presentation of macarons from Haute Sweets Patisserie executive chef Gianni Santin and a rich chocolate dessert from Dunia Borga of La Duni Baking Studio.

As the evening was winding down, KidLinks CEO Diana Crawford spoke about the organization’s 35 year history of providing hope, healing, and happiness to hospitalized and special needs children through music and media. This year, KidLinks impact will be stronger than ever, as the 2018 event raised a record $260,000 for the organization.
