What: Ylang 23 Celebratory Fête
Where: The Space on Oak Lawn
Who: Ylang 23 owners Joanne and Charles Teichman; Capera Ryan, senior vice president, managing director, Southwest region at Christie’s Auction House; Jessica Nowitzki, Tika Pachulia, Kenny Goss, Celina and Chris Lang, Robert Weatherly, Ceron, George and Julia Kanaan, Lynn McBee, Lauren and Jon Havens, Kevin Summers, Cindy and Jay Carter, Gary Kusin, KJ and Bryan Murphy, and Laura Myrick
PC Moment: Twenty-three certainly seems to be the lucky number for Joanne and Charles Teichman. Owners of celebrated jewelry mecca Ylang 23, the couple met on the 23rd, were engaged on the 23rd, married on the 23rd, and launched their Dallas-based jewelry store on November 23rd … Finding any coincidences here? To mark the 30-year milestone of the store’s grand opening, Joanne and Charles did what they always do — throw an over-the-top, fabulous fête.
Hosting the private Andy Warhol-themed soirée, the couple deemed the night as The Next Now celebration. Christie’s and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts flew in 20 of the famed Warhol’s inimitable works. As guests pored over every nook and corner of the gallery space, stopping every now and then to pose in the MirMir Photo Booth, they were treated to vibrant beats from Beatles cover band A Hard Night’s Day.
