Houston’s Best Halloween Party
These Crazy Costumes Aren’t Just Eye Candy, They Raised $1.27 Million
By Shelby Hodge //
What: Ronald McDonald House Boo Ball
Where: Hilton Americas-Houston
PC Moment: As soon as The Grooves hit the bandstand, the goblins, ghouls, witches, walking dead, pirates and even Marie Antoinette stormed the dance floor in a colorful pre-Halloween frenzy. While costumed partying consumed most quarters of the city, the Boo Ball, themed “The Lost Lagoon,” enjoyed a higher purpose, raising $1.27 million for families with critically ill children that find solace in the home away from home. Leading the costume parade were chairs Suzanne and Bucky Farrow and honorary chairs Jan and Oniel Mendenhall, handsomely channeling Jack Sparrow.
Seen: Honorees Joelle and Mitch Derrick, plus Trini Mendenhall, Nancy and Jack Dinerstein, Ellie and Michael Francisco, Elizabeth and Alan Stern, Philamena and Arthur Baird, Lynn Guggolz, Maria and Neil Bush, Cricket and Daniel Dewalt, and Lesha and Tom Elsenbrook.
