What: Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s Young Professionals Group third annual “Jungle Book Gala”

Where: The Dunlavy at Buffalo Bayou Park

PC Moment: In black-tie mode and high spirits, more than 250 up and coming professionals embraced the literacy campaign not only by turning out to play and boogie to the spins of DJ Ivan but also to raise monies for funding home libraries for children who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Glow necklaces, representing a home library purchase, added another layer of glitz to the already dazzling scene, compliments of The Dunlavy’s crystal chandeliers.

Houston Texans linebacker Whitney Mercilus served as honorary chair while Alexa Bode and William Finnorn held the reins as chairs.
