What: The Alley Theatre Sporting Clays Competition
Where: The Greater Houston Sports Club
PC Moment: Earplugs for all, as a whopping 112 shooters joined the party! And that meant a load of target ammo fired during the sporting clay and flurry events at the 16th annual outdoor fête. Shooters began the day fueling up on a delish wild game buffet lunch from the Rainbow Lodge then loaded up their guns for the competition that included a game of Mixology with the two highest-scoring shooters winning his and her snake boots by Republic Boot Company. Taking home that prize were Megan Gosnell and Jeff Birmingham.
Between afternoon cocktails and outdoor schmoozing the winners were announced with the sharp-shooter Jeff Birmingham Team taking first place in sporting clays and in the flurry competition. Birmingham himself took honors as the High Over All male and Mary Elizabeth Sand won the female HOA.
In a move that made chairs Stephen Greenlee and Trent Tellepsen particularly pleased, Bob McBee, who won the raffle for the all-inclusive dove hunt for four to Córdoba, Argentina, gave it back to the Alley for auction on the spot. Jon Deutser added $10,000 to Alley coffers as high bidder on the trip.
PC Seen: Alley board chair Butch Mach, Alley managing director Dean Gladden, Alley creative director Rob Melrose, Jesse Marion, Dan Hanchera, Raymond Babaz, David Reed, Alex Juden, Victor Longo, Tim Bautsch, Steve Kopp, Scott Lestus, Bill and Marie Wise, Joe Ryan Mathis, Evan Meeks, Parker Meeks, Seth Borland, Steve Conner, John Renken, Richard Jatzlau and Dale Koregay.
