PC Moment: Hotel Zaza’s ballroom was filled with more than 330 supporters including presidents, CEOs and physicians from the Texas Medical Center.  Longtime supporter Chevron teamed up with Medical Bridges to highlight moments of thanks and praise to all first responders and workers that dedicated their time during Hurricane Harvey. Jeff Thomas touched on Medical Bridges’ outstanding hands-on work through tremendous medical outreach, providing supplies, and supporting those in need.

Darlene Thompson was honored with the Dr. David Wray Award, Roberta Scwartz accepted the Medical Bridges Corporate Honoree Award on behalf of Houston Methodist and capping off the ceremony, Community Honorees Deana and Larry Blackburn were honored for their long-time support of community organizations in the surrounding area.

The night brought in a record-breaking $300,000, thanks in part to the efforts of chairs Kim Weill, Elizabeth Grzebinski, Dolly Dawson Thomas, Elizabeth Kanaly, and the gala’s honorary chairmen. Medical Bridges recovers medical surplus that would otherwise be discarded, and redistributes them to hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers in countries in need.
