Houston’s Women of Substance Are Revealed
and a Famed British Author is All In:

PC Moment: Author Barbara Taylor Bradford‘s best-selling novel A Woman of Substance (60 million copies sold worldwide) was inspiration for the inaugural event benefiting The Mission of Yahweh, as envisioned by event planner Paul-David Van Atta. One dozen women were announced as first recipients of the Women of Substance award that will be presented on November 3 at River Oaks Country Club. Taylor Bradford will be in attendance along with her husband, Bob Bradford.
In fact, the best-selling author will serve as honorary chair along with Joanne King Herring, Regina Rogers and Margaret Alkek Williams. Chairing the luncheon will be Rachel Regan with Warner Roberts, a long-time Mission of Yahweh supporter, as special advisor.
Taking bows as the inaugural class of Women of Substance were Rose Cullen, Deborah Duncan, Carolyn Faulk, Monica Hartland, Penny Loyd, Cora Sue Mach, Trini Mendenhall, Amy Pierce, Sybil Roos, Lisa Morris Simon, Alicia Smith and Sherri Zucker.
