PC Moment: The celebration of “Heroes of Harvey” saluted three city/community leaders who lived the “Houston Strong” motto throughout the Hurricane Harvey disaster. Taking bows for their steadfast leadership and generosity were Mayor Sylvester Turner, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale. Also honored were four volunteers, heroes in their own right, from four of Interfaith Ministries’ programs: Meals on Wheels, Refugee Services, Interfaith Relations & Community Partnerships, and Volunteer Houston.
Maria and Neil Bush served as honorary chairs of the evening that raised more than $500,000.
