What: Neiman Marcus fall fashion fête
Where: Level Two in the Galleria Store
PC Moment: Blogger and Instagram star Chiara Casiraghi welcomed a troupe of 200 fashionistas for a preview of fall fashions that despite the soaring temps were tempting. With air-conditioning as a girl’s best friend, few if any shunned the thought of comfy fall and winter clothes. And that was a pleasant thought for Neiman’s general manager Stephen Brunelle, who was on hand to greet the ladies.
The top trends for fall were on the catwalk. Think camel and white combos, animal print redux, (are leopard prints ever déclassé?), new proportion pants, the feminine spin on menswear and 1980s cocktail influence. The looks included Versace, Zac Posen, Escada, Alice & Olivia, Forte Forte and more. Some are still swooning over the glittering Rene Caovilla beaded evening shoes with glittered bottom. Oh, my.
DJ John Tran spun the discs ’80s style that had the youngish femmes dancing in their chiavari chairs. The free-flowing champagne and Harvey Wallbangers, a nod to the ’80s esthetic, added to the merriment.
