Katie Holmes Roars Into Dallas

Dawson’s Creek, Ocean’s 8 and Jamie Foxx. What do these things have in common? They are all revolve around the superstar guest speaker for Dallas’ 12th annual Chick Lit Luncheon: Katie Holmes. Consider this year’s theme more of a Chick Flick.

This annual lunch benefitting Community Partners of Dallas is one of the Dallas social scene’s more sought after tickets all year, thanks to its reputation for bringing in major guest speakers — along with its important cause.

Serving more than 20,000 children last year in the Dallas Country Child Protective Services, Community Partners of Dallas aims to ensure safety, instill dignity, and inspire hope in the thousands of abused and neglected children in the Dallas area. Four main programs — Rainbow Room, Kids in Crisis, Caseworker Appreciation, and Storyline — establish the foundation of the organization and offer services to kids whenever they need it, wherever they are.

As a critically acclaimed film, television, stage actress and director, Holmes is set to speak at the luncheon this Friday, April 13. One of the most powerful female voices in Hollywood is also making a tremendous impact on the abused and neglected children of Dallas.
