Katy Trail Ice House Brings Brains, Bites and Brews Together
Drinking to Save Your Mind
By Linden Wilson Jobe //
We love any reason to grab a drink at the Katy Trail Ice House, especially as the weather turns a bit cooler. On September 13, grab a few friends and order a pint of your favorite brew — all for a good cause.
The Brews, Bites, and Brain Research event raises money for the Aging Mind Foundation, a Dallas nonprofit that works to fund Alzheimer’s and dementia research. One hundred percent of proceeds from the evening will go directly to the AMF.
With the purchase of a ticket, guests receive beer, wine, and hearty BBQ apps. Liquor and mixed drinks are available at a cash bar. We’re particular fans of the Ice House’s classic Summer Beer (Blue Moon, vodka, lemonade).
Tickets are limited (click here to purchase), as is parking, so valet, carpooling, and/or using a car service is strongly encouraged.
Since its inception in 2013, The Aging Mind Foundation— founded by Laree Hulshoff and Bill Booziotis — has raised more than $1.2 million to fund brain research in North Texas. It has awarded grants to The Center for Vital Longevity, Center for Brain Health, and Baylor AT&T Memory Center.
