Where: River Oaks Country Club
PC Moment: With the importance of philanthropy delivered by keynote speaker Wanda Durant, entrepreneur, philanthropist and mother of NBA star Kevin Durant, the gathering of more than 350 raised more than $576,000 for the Army’s housing, emergency shelter, rehabilitation, disaster relief, social services and Christmas assistance programs.
The luncheon, chaired by Nathalie and Charles Roff, honored his parents, Ann and J. Hugh Roff Jr., for their years of service and support of the Salvation Army. Advisory board chair Joe Cleary handled the welcome while Major Kent Davis, Houston area commander, handled the prayer.
