What: A salute to Legacy Community Health Services Mint Julep fundraiser

Where: The River Oaks home of Richard Werner and Tony Bravo

PC Moment: Show tunes wafted through a grand River Oaks dwelling as a cue to the return of Legacy’s popular musical lip syncing drag queen Mint Julep fundraiser. It was themed “An Afternoon at Moulin Rouge” this year. Champagne and rosé flowed as the summer-attired clutch of guys and dolls imbibed, which no doubt contributed to the high spirits. (Bermuda shorts reigned.)

Legacy CEO Dr. Bobby Hilliard and chief development officer Chree Boydstun welcomed guests in celebration of the 20th annual Mint Julep afternoon, which is scheduled for Sunday, July 17, at White Oak Music Hall.

This legendary Houston LGBTQ event will entertain guests with an afternoon of big hair, outrageous outfits and fabulous performances. In the tradition of Legacy’s signature summer show, Mint Julep is free to attend but donations are encouraged and the drag queens collect funds with all money raised dedicated to Legacy’s HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and treatment programs.

The event will honor Katy Caldwell, who retired from Legacy as CEO after a tenure of 25 years with the agency. Also in the honoree spotlight will be longtime Legacy supporters Domenic Cusano and Felicia (aka Scarlett) St. John.
