Sister Power Turns this Boot Party into a Pure Texas Celebration

Secret Love Notes Add a Sweet Touch

BY // 06.29.17

What: Miron Crosby’s Inaugural Collection Preview

Where: The brand’s new Highland Park Village boutique

PC Moment: From the hand painted macarons — made by another local sister duo, We the Birds — to the display of handwritten notes meant to be embossed into the lining of a special boot, Miron Crosby’s inaugural collection preview was filled with thoughtful and thoroughly Texan details.

Guests were greeted on the terrace by Mambo Taxis and hors d’oeuvres from neighboring Mi Cocina. Inside, the line’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection was displayed throughout – each boot lovingly showcased alongside its name.

Sisters Lizzie Duplantis and Sarah Means drew inspiration for their inaugural designs from a tour of the Southwest – encompassing everything from vintage Native American textiles and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie School architecture to their family’s ranch in the Chihuahuan Desert. These influences show up in the boots’ artisan leatherwork in an array of colors, textures and shapes. A collection favorite, the Margretta, is made in a rich navy leather covered in a smattering of gold stars — no doubt inspired by the West Texas night sky.

While the pair sought to capture the spirit of the Southwest in their collection, their emphasis on bespoke boot design is quintessentially Texan. With Miron Crosby’s concierge design service, clients can customize an existing silhouette with a broad palette of colors, exotic materials and custom stitching. Further personalize them with a monogram, ranch brand or, our favorite — a secret love note embossed in leather inside.

Who: Lizzie and Sarah’s style-setting sister-in-law Bradley Means and other Texas blog darlings Sally Parker, Molly Miller and Courtney Kerr.
