What: Nora’s Home eighth annual “We Are Family” gala
Where: The Post Oak Hotel
PC Moment: In less than a decade, this fundraiser has grown from a modest get-together to a whopping success with $950,000 in the bank for the nonprofit that provides affordable, temporary housing for organ transplant patients. The value of Nora’s Home was poignantly realized through the story of gala chairs Vicki and Nick Massad and their daughter, Taylor. The family shared their transplant experience in which Taylor donated a kidney to her father.
The evening honored billionaire philanthropists Carole and Jim Looke and Paula and Rusty Walter for their long-term support of Nora’s Home, which ensures that transplant patients have a comfortable place to call home during their recovery. Carole and Rusty are twins, scions of Walter Oil & Gas.
On this totally disco-inspired night, a number of guests stepped out in “I Love the Night Life” style.
