What: The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center “Dancing Under the Stars” gala
Where: A too-private-to-be-named private club near Memorial Park
PC Moment: In celebration of the nature center’s 50th anniversary, more than 550 guests gathered poolside for wining, dining and dancing under the starlit trees on one of those rare perfect Houston evenings. As chairs, Kitty and Lex Hochner and Leigh and Chris Joseph set the stage for the evening that raised more than $540,000 for the Arboretum’s conservation and education work. Joining in the brief program were Houston Arboretum board president Chad Hesters and executive director Debbie Markey. Adding to the bottom line were the efforts of auction co-chairs Mary Sommers and Sam Pyne and Julie and Robert Shuford.
