Young Professionals Enjoy Private Residents-Only Bars at Luxury Apartment Buildings
New Takeover Makes These Hidden Hotspots Even More Happening
By Shelby Hodge //
What: Bosscat Kitchen & Libations move-in
Where: Center Bar by Bosscat at The James luxury apartment building
PC Moment: The swank mid-rise on Mid Lane (a street that long before The James was known as Sin Alley, think the 1960s and young professionals) just upped the fun with the takeover of the residents-only bar by the wildly popular Bosscat Kitchen & Libations team. It was a beyond logical move as the whiskey hotspot nestles practically across the street from the 344-unit property targeting young professionals.
And that is just the start of the beautiful relationship between Stonelake Capital Partners and Bosscat owners. As of August 1, the Bosscat team also oversees The Loft by Bosscat, previously the residents-only bar at the neighboring luxury apartment building, The Ivy.
The two pubs had been run by in-house management. But now the fun begins.
On this lively night, Center Bar manager Joe Spartz and The Loft manager Edgar Torres mixed up specialty cocktails for the gathering of more than 100 residents and friends — wine, beer and light bites all sourced from neighbor Bosscat.
Prior to the official takeover, Bosscat co-owner John Reed and his team ratcheted up the appeal of the bars with new looks and new food and drink menus.
Celebrants: Bosscat owners Leslie Nguyen, Tai Nguyen, Peter Petro and Matt Sharp; Jayme Lamm, Capri Miller andTerrie Booth, Ruthie and Stephen Meek, Jill Hernandez, Leslie Caldwell, James Wilson, Andrea Simmons, Molly McMurtry and Alyssa Henke.
