This Houston Quinceañera Like No Other Brings Four Music Acts, 43,000 Flowers, a Cake Jetted In From Miami and a Big Give Back
Kamila Almodovar's 15th Birthday Is Beyond Memorable

Many in the throng of 175 people gathered at Le Tesserae in Houston’s East End had never attended a quinceañera prior to this special Saturday night. Surely, they would never again see anything like it again. For the celebration of Kamila Almodovar‘s 15th birthday in the honored Latin American tradition was as grand as any wedding. As resplendent as a royal coronation.
In fact, the daughter of luxury residential real estate moguls Nancy and Jose Almodovar donned a tiara and a billowing gown worthy of Cinderella. It was an observation repeated throughout the evening, surely pleasing Laura’s Couture and Liberté Bridal which collaborated on the beautifully bead-enhanced gown.
From the moment of arrival, guests were greeted at valet by arbors of flowers leading through a bower of flowing pink silk drapes that opened to the elevator lobby. Then the formally-attired throng was whisked to the top floor where the breathtaking evening formally began.
“Kamila’s quinceañera was about so much more than creating a beautiful evening,” Nancy Almodovar tells PaperCity. “It was about celebrating her, our family, our culture and this incredible milestone in her life. Every detail was intentional because I wanted her to look back on this night and always remember how deeply she is loved.”

A quartet from Divisi Strings performed in the ballroom foyer as everyone was served champagne and other drinks of choice as they awaited doors opening. A major bonus of partying at Le Tesserae is the vast balcony that overlooks Buffalo Bayou and beyond to the Houston downtown skyline. Many among the throng found perches on the terrace elegantly furnished with comfy seating, with service from an attentive waitstaff.
Through windows to the ballroom, everyone could see the astonishing quinceañera cake, a towering seven-tiered confection wrapped in garlands of roses. The cake was the work of Reposteria Creativa, which created the masterpiece in the pastry kitchen’s home base in Miami. Cake delivery came via jet from Florida.

Doors to the ballroom opened revealing a resplendent decor — the ceiling above the dance floor cascading with flowers and crystals; the single lengthy tables flanking the dance floor dressed in a continuous, mammoth flow of roses, hydrangeas, stock, anemones and more; and dinner tables centered with towering bouquets dripping with crystal balls, each filled with a rose. The wealth of blossoms, some 43,000 flowers, were flown in from Ecuador and Colombia.
A massive video screen at the end of the dance floor scrolled through images of Kamila, her family and friends while the nearby Kamila Boutique was stocked with gifts for guests. These included monogramed custom hoodies, water bottles, beauty masks and beauty blenders.
Applause, applause to the event planner Macy Lima and Royal Luxury Events, which did the decor for the magical evening.

Inside a Magical Night
Mariachi de Sonidos de Guanajuato launched the festivities as guests found their seats and gracious hosts Nancy and Jose Almodovar made the rounds, visiting each table and welcoming all the guests personally. Once the buffet dinner by Jackson & Company had been served, Jose Almodovar introduced his daughter.
DJ and Master of Ceremonies Corey Greene took over the program for the evening that included dance floor hijinks from LED dancers. And dance the youthful guests did, rocking until the 11 pm bewitching hour. After all, this was a party for young teenagers — as well their parents.

From the beginning Nancy Almodovar, stunning in a gown by Malton Couture, wanted this quinceañera to embrace all things that her daughter Kamila loved as well as including a philanthropic component.
Kamila Almodovar donated all of the money she received as gifts for this milestone celebration to PetSet. And she donated each of the flower arrangements to Petal Power, a local service that salvages flowers and provides bouquets to more than 20 nonprofit organizations.
