What: Dallas Afterschool “Recess”
Where: Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
PC Moment: Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Dallas Afterschool threw the ultimate school-inspired soirée: Recess! With such a fun theme, we knew it would draw a good crowd. And indeed, it did. Guests turned up for an evening of schoolyard fun: door prizes, dancing, and even a sandbox filled with $10,000 worth of prizes (thanks to the team at NorthPark Center, which sponsored the bin of goodies). Local chef, Ken Rathbun took a spin on cafeteria food, offering elevated mini corndogs and spiked juice boxes to boot. The evening benefitted the non-profit, where the focus is on providing afternoon programming for children throughout Dallas County.
Who: Dallas Afterschool CEO Christina Hanger; event chairs Regina Merson and Robyn Siegel; honorary chairs Tanya McDonald and Janet Mockovciak; musical chairs Megan Kneipp, John Leary, Rachael Potter, and Jason Story; honorees Julie Bagley, Meredith Camp, Hadley Galt, Kate Rose Marquez, Christina Norris, and Jennifer Tobin; plus Erica Kuppin, Matt Boggs, Kate Leary Wisniewski, Chandra North Blaylock, and Ashley Hopkins.
