What: The 50th anniversary celebration of Rice University’s Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Education Studies
Where: Anderson-Clarke Center on the Rice Campus
PC Moment: The cocktail reception saluted not only the school’s half century mark but also the 31-year tenure of Dean Mary McIntire, who retires in June. Supporters, alumni, faculty and community partners joined in the evening that raised $277,000 for the Continuing Scholars Endowment honoring McIntire. The Richard Brown Trio performed as wait staff from CityKitchen quenched thirst and quelled any hunger pangs. Leading remarks made to the gathering were Susie Glasscock, for whom the program is named, Rice grad Bobby Tudor, and Linda Clarke Anderson.
