Spiked Ice Cream
Adult Desserts Spotlighted by Houston’s Top Restaurant Chefs
By Jailyn Marcel //
Frozen treats get a boozy jolt at Yellow Rose Distilling’s second annual Spiked by the Scoop showdown, where 13 of the city’s premiere chefs, restaurateurs, and mixologists showcase their best alcohol-infused desserts for a panel of esteemed judges. That’s right, brace yourself for adult shakes, scoops, sandwiches, and sundaes.
This year’s participants include Brandon Walker (B&B Butchers & Restaurant), Matt Sharp (Bosscat Kitchen & Libations), Danny Lucciola (BRIO Tuscan Grille), Adam Plaisance (Eddie V’s), Daniel Albelice (Fellini Gelato & Caffé), Dr. Elyse Sears (Floss Dental CityCentre), Steve Padgett (Grub Burger Bar), Kathleen Morgan (Honeychild’s Sweet Creams), Herlen Galvez and Chris Huot (Karbach Brewing Company), Lee Ellis (Lee’s Creamery), Samantha Wright (Sweet & Mellow), Caroline Ramirez (Triniti/FM Burger), and Jeffrey Meyer (The Capital Grille.)
Proceeds from the event benefit Homemade Hope, a non-profit serving Houston’s homeless youth through cooking classes and culinary advancement.
