Red Carpet Affair Brings Major TV Stars to Houston

And It’s All for Some Adorable Dogs

BY // 04.25.17

A glamorous springtime tradition, this year’s edition of Karen Steele‘s always much discussed Steele Red Carpet Party is dubbed Save a Harris County Animal Shelter Dog Night. In lieu of ticket sales, guests are asked to make donations upon entry benefitting the Houston Homeless Pet Project, a selfless group of volunteers dedicated to rescue care, rehabilitative services, foster care, and adoption placement — just $200 can save the life of a dog at risk of euthanasia.

As always, the Steele Red Carpet welcomes Hollywood actors and musicians with deep Texas ties to its exclusive soiree. Dalton Gray, recently seen on Criminal Minds, Blackish, and currently filming a pilot for a three-letter network;  Brian Thornton and Joshua Diaz of USA’s hit show Queen of the South, Kirby Jackson from Roots, Major Dodson from The Walking Dead, Brianna Askins from Modern Family, and more are set to attend. The Texas Six-Steppers — a troupe of owners and their pets whose name is a cheeky reference to their four-legged friends — will greet and entertain guests as well.
