Second-in-command no more — sous chefs will take center stage when 19 of the state’s most notable cuisiniers dish out a seasonally inspired feast at this year’s Texas Sous Chef Dinner in downtown Dallas. Led by Lucia sous chef Justin Holt, the two-night event features nine chefs (in addition to Holt) and nine courses per night accompanied by beverage pairings (two one-of-a-kind cocktails and two glasses of wine).
The first dinner kicks off under the care of Holt, Joel Orsini (Filament, Dallas), Max Sage (Fixe, Austin), Emmanuel Chavez (Compass Group / Brink Dining, Houston), Kim Nguyen (Fluff Bake Bar, Houston), Scott Girling (The Grape, Dallas), Nick Walker (Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Dallas), Steve Moore (Foreign & Domestic, Austin), Ben Leath (CBD Provisions, Dallas) and Alex Astranti (Top Knot, Dallas).
Night two features Holt, Coner Seargeant (CBD Provisions, Dallas) Steve Hoogeboom (Grace, Fort Worth), Josh Healy (Filament, Dallas), Mat Urban (Americano, Dallas), Neal Liston (Knife, Dallas), Antonio Ibarra (Small Brew Pub, Dallas), Cullen Hole (Shuck Shack, San Antonio), PJ Edwards (Chicon, Austin) and Patrick Feges (Southern Goods, Houston).
The dinner benefits Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, which helps combat childhood hunger across Texas by aiding local food banks and providing school meals at no costs to deserving students.
