White Hot
Top Fashionistas Make Giving Glamorous at this Waterway Hotel
By Shelby Hodge //
What: Giving Goes Glam fashion show and luncheon
Where: The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel
PC Moment: Most of the 800 guests followed the fashion dictate for “White Haute” attire, filling the ballroom with a veritable field of swans in white lace, linen and silk. The sixth annual Giving Goes Glam fundraiser, featuring a Neiman Marcus fashion presentation, was presented by Interfaith of The Woodlands and the Junior League of The Woodlands and raised more than $365,000 for those organizations’ community services and programs. CHI St. Luke’s Health was presenting sponsor.
Highlight of the day was presentation of the community honorees, dressed by Market Street of The Woodlands for their runway presentation. Taking bows on the catwalk were Elvira Cauthen, Jenny Coyle, Megan Hershfeld, Audra Hoegemeyer, Christine Johnson and Julie Sanchez.
Key to the proceedings were luncheon co-chairs Darcy Bass, Catie Fuller, Amy Torres and Amy Young. They welcomed guests during the champagne reception and encouraged bidding in the silent auction.
Indicating that these ladies were ready to make a day of fashion and charitable fundraising, the fun continued with the inaugural after-party (sold out!) at Churrasco’s. “Giving is glamorous,” quickly became the mantra of the day.
Who: Junior League president Bobbi Jo Miller, Interfaith president and CEO Missy Herndon, designer Elaine Turner, Meredith Wierick, Lindy Johnson, Shannon Mills, Jen McDonald, Lauren Trice, Amy Young, Christen and David Argueta, and Meagan Jamaluddin.
