Artful Weekend: Two metropolises, two chill art happenings.
By Catherine D. Anspon //

Begin tonight in Dallas at the 19th Blue Yule at The MAC, a jubilant fete of the season and chance to secure some really cool artist-made ornaments, which typically range from the surreal to the sublime. The bluegrass band the Boxcar Bandits perform and a word of warning: Watch out for the blue mystery punch … Tomorrow, in Houston, artist Susan Plum rolls out her famous Super Saturday Salons. On Saturdays December 6, 13, 20 and 27, pop by her Heights area studio (1829 Arlington) between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm for bites, libations and amazing shopping with a mystical bent. (We never leave without a new pair of glass earrings but this year, we’re eying the candelabra.) For details or to come by at a different time, here are Plum’s digits: 713-542-6986.
