Popular Home Store Opens Its Own Art Gallery in a Historic Uptown House: A Blue Print to More

The 5 founders of the popular home store are excited to expand Blue Print.
Blue Print is drawing up an exciting new scheme this spring. The popular home store is honing in on the world of fine art with Blue Print Gallery, set to open next door to the Uptown boutique come April. The gallery will represent more than 50 established, mid-career and emerging contemporary artists from around the world.
The store was founded in 2011 by five home experts: Cynthia Collins of Collins Interiors, Caroline Eastman of Eastman Interiors, Leslie Jenkins of Jenkins Interiors, Carrie Jane Pogoloff of Blue Print Interiors and Lucy Ward with Collins Interiors.
The gallery is a natural next step for Blue Print, which has long carried a considerable assortment of artwork in addition to high-end antiques, modern light fixtures and home accessories. The store is branching out with the gallery-only location in order to meet the demands of Dallas’ growing art community. The owners want to create a warm and approachable gallery environment, where first-time art buyers can feel as comfortable as avid collectors.
The gallery will take shape in a historic home at 2701 Fairmount Street, which is currently undergoing renovations. Behind the blue doors, walls will be stocked with a large variety of paintings, works on paper, photography and sculpture. New exhibitions will be introduced on a monthly basis. In order to provide a broader spectrum of artwork, Blue Print Gallery will have several viewing rooms where clients can peruse additional stored inventory. At the helm of the project is Lauren Zogg, Blue Print Gallery’s art curator.
Things kick off with an exhibition including the work of Charles Patrick, who specializes in paper butterflies; Mary Rountree Moore, an abstract landscape painter; Rick Beck, a hand cast glass sculptor; and Marilla Palmer, a college artist who works with pressed foliage, holographic papers and embroidery.
Blue Print Gallery will have its grand opening and premiere art reception on Thursday, April 5 from 6 to 8 pm.
