Texas Ballet Theater Presents Dracula
By Jane Rozelle //
The lights will dim a bit darker next month at Dallas’ Winspear Opera House, where Texas Ballet Theater is set to present Dracula. The Gothic horror novel written by Bram Stoker has been transformed into a hauntingly brilliant ballet choreographed by the world-renowned Ben Stevenson, O.B.E; composed by Franz Liszt; arranged by John Lanchbery and with a musical accompaniment from the Dallas Symphony. Prepare for a bewitching evening as Count Dracula takes us on his journey to hunt new blood and spread his curse. Running from Friday, September 4 through Sunday, September 6 and again from Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13, Dracula is an awe-evoking performance guaranteed to leave audiences spellbound … and perhaps a bit frightened.
