Christie’s will soon offer a look into the private lives of President Ronald Reagan and his beloved — and glamorous — wife, Nancy. The Private Collection of President and Mrs. Reagan auction will take place in New York on Wednesday, September 21 and continue through Thursday, September 22.
With more than 800 items, the collection includes furniture, art, and notable gifts and memorabilia ranging with estimates of $50 to $50,000. Highlights include an inaugural gift from Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sinatra and President Reagan’s custom-made Tony Lama cowboy boots.
The auction will also feature striking pieces from Nancy Reagan’s jewelry collection, including a gold lion pendant necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels, and a diamond, ruby, and sapphire American flag ring by Bulgari. For those who can’t make it to New York in time, the auction will also be online. Viewings begin on Saturday, September 17.
