A Giant Yellow Work of Art Turns Heads In Dallas
By India Pougher //
Houston-based artist Michelle O’Michael‘s quickly recognizable work has debuted again in Dallas. O’Michael, whose pieces you can also find at El Centro Community College and Baylor Scott & White Hospital, installed her latest, Trust, at the center of The Plaza at Preston Center driving circle.
The vibrant yellow structure, which stands at a whopping 39 feet tall, features O’Michael’s signature organic, twisting shapes, which she believes are integral to the movement of everyday life. Each piece of the three-part sculpture represents the synergy of Preston Center’s daily interactions — the vendors, clients, and, most importantly, the trust.
The whimsical piece is O’Michael’s seventh public installation in the city.
