Dallas weekends are packed full of events, but how many of them are truly worthy of your time? PaperCity‘s new events calendar offers a curated look at all of the best things to do in the area. But everyone can still use an expert.

Party, Party, Party

This Saturday, June 22, Reunion Tower is having a lawn party. From 6:30 pm to 10 pm, the free event will have live music from DJ K Sprinkles and Emerald City’s Party Machine Band. There will also be food trucks, such as Easy Slider and Ruthie’s Rolling Cafe, lawn games and a beer garden. Be there at 8:30 pm to catch a special light show on the Reunion Tower Ball.

Pride Month is still going strong. The Pride Block Party in the Dallas Arts District takes place this Friday, June 21 from 6 pm to noon. In collaboration with the Dallas Museum of Art Late Nights and Nasher Sculpture Center ’til Midnight, the party includes pride-themed tours, performances, local artists, food trucks and more. The block party will be at Flora Street and Harwood Street.

One special performance is a look back at the life of Judy Garland. At the DMA, Garland will be played by actor Janelle Lutz with pianist Adam Wright. The show will start at 7 pm and examines Garland’s impact on the Gay Liberation movement.

All Kinds of Tunes

This weekend, we’ve got a mix of musical genres coming to the city. First up, Erykaj Badu is performing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on Friday, June 21. This will be a one night only event at Meyerson for the local legend. The show begins at 7:30 pm.

Odesza, electronic duo Catacombkid and BeachesBeaches, is coming to Dos Equis Pavilion on Saturday, June 22. Camp Nowhere 2019 will also have performances by ZHU, Gryffin, Chelsea Cutler and Robotaki. The show starts at 6 pm and tickets start at $40.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is coming to the Winspear Opera House from this Tuesday June 18 through Sunday, June 23. The Broadway hit tells the story of Carole King and her rise to stardom. Shows are on evenings during the week. There are two shows (matinee and evening) both Saturday and Sunday. Purchase tickets here.

Comedic Ventriloquism

Richardson-native and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is performing at the American Airlines Center on Friday and Saturday. This will be the taping of his upcoming Netflix special Passively Aggressive. The Saturday show is sold out, but there are still tickets to the Friday show available here.

Supernatural Vibes

The Supernatural Official Convention is coming to the Plano Event Center June 21 through 23. Stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and more will be in attendance. The convention consists of parties, panels, contests and lots of autograph and photo opportunities for fans of the long-running show.

Pizza Pop-Up

Zoli’s is back in Oak Cliff! But as a pop-up for one night only. From 6 pm to 10 pm on Sunday, June 23, Taco y Vino will be taken over by Zoli’s NY Pizza. A selection of favorites like garlic knots and personal sized pies will be available. Taco y Vino will also serve some beer and wine.

Food will be served until sold out. After closing in Oak Cliff in 2016, the closest location of Zoli’s is now in Addison.

J Lo

This last one is on Monday, but why not extend your weekend with Jennifer Lopez‘s It’s My Party Tour? On June 24, J Lo is performing at the American Airlines Center at 8 pm. In celebration of turning 50 years old this summer, the iconic singer and dancer will be singing all of her hits plus special guests from World of Dance.
