Luxury movie theater, Cinépolis, will open at The Shops at Willow Bend in 2020.
The Shops at Willow Bend are expanding with new dining, shops, and a movie theater.
Cinépolis, a luxury movie theater chain is expanding to The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano. The Addison-based company already has Dallas area locations in Victory Park and Euless. The fancy pants theater offers fully reclining leather seats and push-button waiter service with gourmet food and cocktails.
The new location is coming during a $145 million renovation of The Shops at Willow Bend, which include the recent additions of the Crayola Experience, new restaurants, the Plano Children’s Theater and an upcoming Equinox fitness club. This new movie theater addition will have 10 screens and 40,000 square feet of space.
Cinépolis, which I still don’t entirely know how to pronounce correctly, is another addition to the dine-in, luxury movie-watching experience craze. iPic and Alamo Drafthouse have been in the Dallas-area for a while now, but the Victory Park location of Cinépolis just popped up last summer.
The theater added to the burgeoning new Victory South area of Victory Park, which now includes Dibs on Victory, Popbar, Billy Can Can, Hero, Jinya, and many more spots to grab a bite or drink. Victory Park has become a much more hopping place for going out — and there seem to be a similar plans for Willow Bend.
“Reimagine Willow Bend” is the slogan for the continuous renovations. Knife Butcher, Chef John Tesar’s butcher shop, is the newest opening and offers fresh meats to take home and cook yourself.
Cinépolis, Sin-ah-poh-liss? Cin-eh-poh-lise? Someone please tell me… will open at Willow Bend in 2020. This is movie theater chain that’s been expanding rapidly, with 21 theaters in seven states. Cinépolis started in Mexico, where it’s an entertainment juggernaut with 427 movie theaters in 92 Mexican cities.
