Dallas’ 10 Best Fourth of July Parties — Fireworks, Pool Time, Kaboom Town and More

BY // 07.03.18

The Fourth of July falls in the middle of a work week this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the holiday with a bang. Tis the time for pool parties, backyard barbecues, patio cocktails, and, of course, fireworks.

Whether you’re searching for fun in the sun or relaxation in the AC, here are the 10 Dallas area holiday happenings you don’t want to miss:

Pool Party

Hamburgers, hotdogs, and cold brews by the pool – does it get any more American than that? The Stoneleigh Hotel and its new restaurant Perle on Maple are celebrating Independence Day with a relaxed pool party from 12 to 6 pm on July 4th.

Beat the heat with Bomb Pops in dunked in prosecco or a cold one from Deep Ellum Brewing. Reservations are available on OpenTable.com or by calling (469) 375-5846.

Drink the Flag

With its massive flag constructed out of beer cans, The Rustic just might be the most patriotic bar in town. Celebrate the Fourth of July at the Uptown hotspot this year and help “Drink the Flag,” which includes Real Ale Fireman’s 4, Miller Lite and Wild Acre Texas Blonde Ale.

One hundred percent of the flag proceeds will be donated to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation, which supports military and first responder families. The celebration will also include live music from local artists AJ LeGrand, Austin Allsup and Vincent Neil Emerson, and yard games in the roomy outdoor area.

A State Fair Special

The Texas State Fair is a truly important American tradition that happens only once a year – but this week, you can get a little taste of fair fun on July 4. The Annual Fair Park Fourth Celebration is a rare time when you can enjoy rides, Fletcher’s Corny Dogs and Midway games outside of state fair season. The event starts at noon and includes patriotic performances, live music, and a fireworks show after sunset. Admission to the Midway is $8 at the gates or $5 at BigTex.com.

Running Time

Calling all runners: the Dallas Marathon is introducing its first annual Five on the Fourth event this Fourth of July, benefiting the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. The event includes a five mile run, a two mile walk, and multiple races for children.

If you’d rather take it easy, stick by the start line at Klyde Warren Park and enjoy face-painting, music, balloon artists and more. The festivities start at 8 a.m.

Rooftop Partying

If you find yourself in Deep Ellum this holiday, head over to the rooftop at Harlowe MXM for its Red, White & Booze party. The bar will be serving up food and drink specials throughout the day, including a boozy bomb pop. Be sure to stick around past dark – the rooftop patio is the perfect spot for watching fireworks.

Brunch It

Start your Fourth of July off right with an all-American brunch at Henry’s Majestic. The Park Cities restaurant will have its signature sparkle bar on offer, with four sparkling wines, homemade cordials, seasonal fruits and fresh juices. Brunch favorites, like Henry’s beloved chicken and waffles, are the perfect fuel for a fun holiday.

Beer Night

The Texas Ale Project is hosting its third annual ‘Merica the Beer-tiful party tonight, Tuesday July 3, and admission is free. Check out live music, games, food from Cuates Kitchen, and a prime view of the “Red, White & Boom On the Bridge” fireworks show. The event runs from 1 to 9 p.m.

Kaboom Town

Addison’s epic Kaboom Town fireworks show just got even better. Two nearby bars are joining forces to create the perfect Independence Day experience. The Hub & Ron’s Place are turning their back field into a huge Fourth of July party, complete with killer barbecue, a full service bar, live music and more.

The best part? You get to enjoy Kaboom Town without dealing with the crowds.

Indoor Cool

Would you rather avoid the heat, crowds, and fireworks all together? Celebrate the holiday in the comfort of centralized AC at Pinstack locations in Allen, Las Colinas and Plano. The entertainment and dining venue is great for indoor fun, and it’s offering a special Berry American cocktail all week long.

Texas Baseball

Take part in a great American tradition this Fourth and cheer for the home team as the Texas Rangers host the first-place Houston Astros at Globe Life Park. Not only is it Texas Chili Company Dollar Hotdog Night, there will also be post-game fireworks.
