Dallas Comedy Festival Lineup Revealed — And the Headlining Stand-Up Stars Are…

It's a Good Time to Laugh

BY // 02.22.19

The lineup has been revealed for the 10th annual Dallas Comedy Festival and it’s something for comedy fans to embrace. Rory Scovel and Daniel Van Kirk will be this year’s standup headliners. The festival takes place in Deep Ellum from March 26 to 30 and includes stand-up, improv, sketch and podcast performances.

Rory Scovel is well-known in the stand-up world. He’s made appearances on Conan and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He also has a new Netflix special out called Rory Scovel Tries Stand-Up for the First Time.

Scovel has a few film credits as well, his most recent as Amy Schumer’s love interest in the comedy I Feel Pretty.

Daniel Van Kirk is Scovel’s podcast partner on the Pen Pals podcast. He’s been named as a “Comic to Watch” by Comedy Central and has appeared on The UCB ShowThe NFL Network and Bob’s Burgers.

Last year’s stand-up headliner was Sasheer Zamata (SNL, I Feel Pretty). Her appearance, as well as improv headliner 3Peat’s presence, helped bring the biggest crowds ever for the Dallas festival.

Along with Scovel and Van Kirk, the improv headliner will be Moyer & Monroe. Jaime Moyer (2 Broke Girls, Modern Family) and Maribeth Monroe (The Good Place — she’s the one who lives in the “medium place”) have a high-energy two person improv show on Friday and Saturday nights of the festival. The Late 90s are returning for their third year from Chicago and will open for Moyer & Monroe.
