Donuts, Brunch and Yoga — Your Weekend Must Dos: Dallas’ 5 Best Events
BY Natalie Gempel // 07.20.17The Nasher will stay open 'til Midnight this Friday.
It’s time to map out your weekend, and we’re here to make things easy for you. We combed through countless Dallas events and found five that are actually worth leaving the house for this weekend.
Start the weekend with an arty, free event at the Nasher Sculpture Center on Friday. Choose between donuts and yoga on Saturday morning (or, if you’re feeling bold, do both). Sunday, start the new week partying at one of Dallas’ best pools. Or get nautical at the DFW Boat Expo, running all weekend long.
Here are your best bets for July 21 to 23:
‘til Midnight at the Nasher
Friday July 21, 6 pm to 12 am
Art, live music, and a movie – ‘til Midnight at the Nasher Sculpture Center is always an entertaining evening. The free event allows guests to wander through the museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions, as well as the garden, which looks most lovely in the moonlight. This Friday, Sudie and Bryce will give live performances, followed by a screening of Sing Street.
Urban Donut Grand Opening
Saturday July 22, 7 am
A new design-your-own donut shop opens in Uptown this Saturday. Urban Donut allows you to choose your own base, filling, icing, toppings, and even ice cream. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the choices, you can choose from a few suggested combinations.
The sweet shop is right off McKinney and will be open late on weekends for bar hoppers. The grand opening starts at 7 am on Saturday, and the first 50 people there get a free shirt. Yoga in the Design District
Sweat for Brunch
Saturday July 22, 9:30 am
Working out is a whole lot easier when you know brunch will follow close behind. Join Vital Fitness Studios for an 60-minute outdoor yoga class at Wheelhouse in the Design District, and reward yourself with a tasty meal at the gastropub. The class is $25 per person, and a complimentary cocktail comes with purchase of entree. Book your spot here.
DFW Boat Expo
Thursday July 20 through Sunday July 23
If you’re in the market for a boat, or if you’re just really into boats, you’ll want to head over to Dallas Market Hall this weekend for the largest boating event in North Texas. The DFW Boat Expo will feature more than 450 boat and watercraft models from dealers across the region. Learn more about the event here.
Summer Sundaze
Sunday July 23, 12 pm to 6 pm
Celebrate National Tequila Day early at the W Hotel’s 16th floor WET Deck. There will be plenty of tequila-infused cocktails, snacks, and music. Dallas’ largest outdoor concert series, Decks in the Park teamed up with the hotel for the party. Tickets start at $20, buy them here.
