The Real Winners of the Golden Globes Don’t Necessarily Have the Trophies
Celebs Like Gemma Chan and Lady Gaga Set the Stage for Red Carpet Wows to Come

Anne Hathaway may not have walked away with a trophy, but she was one of the clear Golden Globes winners.
Well, kids, I have to say that my fashion expectations for the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards were in fact V-high. But the crowd can rejoice, because the stars sure did deliver!
There was vivid color, old-Hollywood drama, and there was even gorgina blue hair that was so gorgeous, not a single person made a Smurf reference.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at my killer highlights from Sunday night’s superior red carpet …
My number-one, must-see style crush (and leg-work-out inspiration) for 2019 is one Gemma Chan. The Crazy Rich Asians star has been slaying red carpets like it is child’s play and I simply couldn’t wait to see what she arrived in.
And, she did not disappoint friends! She chose maybe my favorite lewk from the Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2018 collection, and I am officially hyperventilating from joy.
Also clad in Valentino haute couture (seriously, does anyone do it as good as Valentino? No. The answer is completely and totally No) was Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga.
Giving us full Judy Garland Homage Fantasy in a periwinkle confection that gave me bubble guts it was so good. I also have to just say that I called this pairing a month ago. So basically, I am not the Miss Cleo of Fashion.
I honestly feel that Julia Roberts and her smile bring me the same kind of joy that bread brings Oprah. I literally shed a single tear for her in this ravishing Stella McCartney combo lookin’ like the kind of Teenage Dream that Katy Perry would sing about.
I am officially filing a petition to have John Krasinski and Emily Blunt (in custom Alexander McQueen) adopt me. How cute would they be with a 6-foot-3, quasi-annoying son that never shuts up and who also loves musical theater?!
I feel really good about this decision. Also, sorry Mom.
I mean … Angelina who?! Catherine Zeta Jones giving you that Miss America During the Interview Portion of the Program leg. And I can’t even begin to gush enough about the earrings… I’m literally green with envy. And although that joke was easy, it’s also vehemently true.
Riddle me this readers: Is there any lewk Thandie Newton can’t pull off? She’s is giving me disco-diva Diana Ross chanteuse and I am loving it. I half expected her to climb onto a white horse at the end of the red carpet — a fete I would have been beyond OK with. Just simply would have nodded and said, “As she should.”
Say what you want, but I am so in love with this Alberta Ferretti menswear lewk. I mean, A suit and a high pony?! Welcome to what Reed would wear to the Golden Globes. Also, if you don’t know who Judy Greer is, literally watch any show, like ever. She’s the unsung hero of television and you can quote me on that.
I have decided that I am asking for a “Freak Friday” situation to happen between me and Timotheé Chalamet (in Louis Vuitton) as my birthday present this year.
Officially using my inhaler over this custom Vera Wang on Constance Wu. Could she be more angelic?! I also low-key want to tell that velvet bow all of my hopes and wildest dreams.
Lupita Nyong’o and Calvin Klein by Appointment go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly and I am here for it one-hundo-p.
I’m filing Laura Herrier under a the Style Star to watch category cause sis is giving me full Tina Turner in Mad Max realness in this Louis Vuitton confection. And that red lip… Slow claps, boo. S L O W C L A P S.
And then, there’s Anne Hathaway. This dress checks every box on my to-die-for list.
Leopard print? Check. Flawlessly feminine neckline? Check. Slit to the gods? Check.
And you best believe those earrings are blindingly exquisite to the point of exhaustion.
Then there’s her makeup and hair moments that are both deserving of not only a sequel, but a full on trilogy! Like, truly, every time the camera would be on Annie, I audibly gay-gasped. And if that doesn’t spell Best Dressed, then I simply don’t know what does darlin’.
I truly could not have been more thrilled with this years red carpet and Tiffany & Co bejeweled fingers crossed this is a sign of where this year’s award season red carpet is headed. Into the Hall of Fame of Chic.
