Houston’s luxurious, Italian-flavored caravansary Hotel Granduca has just added another accolade to its growing stable of high honors. TripAdvisor ranks the property in Uptown Park as one of the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in America.

No other hotel in Texas merited one of these 2018 Travelers’ Choice awards.

The boutique hotel with 122 rooms and suites has been a favorite of international travelers as well as Houstonians since its opening in 2006 by renowned luxury real estate developer Giorgio Borlenghi.

In fact, more than a few Houston A-listers have taken refuge in the European-flavored environs, be it due to flooding, house fires or even divorce. Consider the Houston grand dame who has taken up permanent residence in one of the hotel’s spacious suites, which she redecorated with furnishings and artwork from her former River Oaks home.

High marks are tradition with Hotel Granduca which through the years has been included in Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List, anointed with Forbes Four Star rating and earned Conde Nast Reader’s Choice honors as one of the “Top 15 Hotels in Texas.”

In addition, the Houston property and Hotel Granduca Austin both hold membership in the prestigious and discriminating Leading Hotels of the World.

We are very proud and pleased that the extraordinary environment we have created iHouston with Hotel Granduca, together with our consistent impeccable service, continues to be recognized by travelers from all over the world,” Borlenghi said in a statement. “Being part of the 25 Best Luxury Hotels in the United States is the ultimate recognition that ‘my little corner of Italy in Houstonhas blossomed into a great amenity for our city and has become a destination to be enjoyed by everyone.”

Borlenghi, who hails from Milan, is best known for his luxury high rise condominium properties including Villa d’Este, Montebello and Belfiore.
