Jerry Jones Builds His Own Entire City
New Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters Transforms Frisco with Style
By Christina Geyer //
When the Dallas Cowboys announced plans to move their headquarters from Irving to Frisco, few could imagine the city-within-a-city that would emerge — and it’s a stylish, sporty one to boot.
Led by the Jones family, the franchise has single-handedly transformed a significant slice of Frisco with the debut of The Star.
The massive development includes Ford Center field; office space that houses the Cowboys World Headquarters and executive offices; a new Omni Frisco Hotel set to open in June; and more stores and restaurants to follow, including Cane Rosso, East Hampton Sandwich Co., Mi Cocina, and even Zaytinya — a Mediterranean restaurant from Michelin-rated chef José Andrés.
Much like AT&T Stadium, The Star is packed with contemporary art — a continuation of Gene and Jerry Jones’ commitment to bringing museum-quality works to the public. Look for a stunning LED creation, Volume (Frisco) by artist Leo Villareal, in the Cowboys HQ lobby.
With 300 rooms, the Omni has a luxury boutique hotel feel, with Charlotte Jones Anderson, Dallas Cowboys’ executive VP and chief brand officer, working closely with Omni creative director and VP of design Laura McKoy on the design concept.
The Joneses also enticed chef-restaurateur Nick Badovinus to move north, to open Neighborhood Services as the Omni’s in-house restaurant.
Also to come: the NineteenSixty Collection boutique — a hotel shop developed by Anderson and McKoy.
