We all like to get an insider’s look at unique homes on the market, and we all love good food and wine. How about both at the same time? That’s the idea behind Sunday Suppers With The Pope, a series of dinners organized by John Daugherty, Realtors, and Monica Pope that feature the culinary creations of Pope, executive chef and owner of Sparrow Bar + Cookshop. The dinners take place at the real estate firm’s luxury listings. This past Sunday, 40 guests mingled near the pool of a Memorial home and sipped cocktails and wine while Pope’s team prepared the feast. Conversation overheard included the weather (of course), the recent series of Supreme Court rulings and football. The menu? Smoked chicken, a beet salad lightly dressed with olive oil, a mixture of fresh vegetables (including ground cherries) and feta cheese, and sliced cantaloupe seasoned with spices. Dessert was an individual tart topped with honeycomb. Want to take a house tour and meet The Pope? Mark your calendars, because the next suppers take place on September 13 and October 18.
