To all self-proclaimed chefs or foodies who simply love creating and sampling new fare: The Cookery, an innovative concept from owner and head chef instructor Kelly Huddleston, is opening in the Dallas Design District on Thursday, December 8.
Designed for those of all skill levels, The Cookery features a wide selection of interactive and intimate, dinner-party-style classes that teaches its students how to whip up Thai, Italian, Japanese, and Caribbean dishes, plus pasta making. A weekend brunch course is also in the works.

“I created The Cookery as a place where participants could learn new skills in an entertaining and friendly space,” says Huddleston, who has traveled from Paris to Florence to Thailand perfecting her own culinary resume. She also hopes her students will form connections while crafting dishes together.
Each class is led by a skilled instructor as guests dive into complimentary beverages and appetizers while preparing a three- or four-course dinner, which is later enjoyed family-style.
Among the classes planned this month: “An Elegant Winter Dinner Party” (red wine-braised short ribs and chocolate pots de crème), “Bahn Thai” (pad thai, soups, coconut black rice pudding), and “Farm to Table: Fall” (caramelized kohlrabi with turnip bisque, spiced cinnamon and coco-rubbed pork tenderloin). Call for reservations.
