This Friday, 15-year-old Dallas singer-songwriter Remy Reilly is releasing her new single “Burn” featuring The Vandoliers. Accompanied by a new music video, this release will lead up to the young rising star’s Texas tour.
Last year, Reilly released her first EP and single called “26.” A year later, and still in high school, the pop singer is collaborating with critically-acclaimed Americana band The Vandoliers, who have gained media attention from Rolling Stone Country, No Depression and VICE.
Reilly’s new single, “Burn” is a collaboration with producer and bassist John Pedigo and The Vandoliers Josh Fleming as front man, Corey Graves on horns, Guyton Sanders on drums, and Travis Curry on fiddle. After hearing Reilly’s song at Fort Worth Live, Fleming reached out to Reilly to collaborate.
“John and Josh brought a different perspective to my music,” says Reilly about the band’s alt-country sound. “They pushed me vocally, pushed me out of my comfort zone.”
Fleming returns the praise by commenting: “Good lord, that voice. Remy’s talent is undeniable, and her mastery of songwriting is fluid and honest. This is just the beginning for her.”
Pedigo also has compliments. “Because she is so young and just getting going, we’re lucky as hell to get to hear more and more from the insanely talented Remy Reilly in the coming years,” he says. “It’s not if but when she breaks. You don’t have to be told — just use your ears.”
Reilly is eager to show her growing fanbase that she can do things outside of the pop realm. “I hope this song broadens my audience,” she says. “And I hope that people enjoy a different side of me.”
Tour dates will take place at The Rustic locations in Houston (Aug. 6), San Antonio (Aug. 10), and Dallas (Aug. 24). “Burn” will be available on iTunes and Spotify thuis Friday, July 5. The music video, which filmed at Deep Ellum Art Co, will also debut on the artist’s YouTube page that day.
You can currently catch Reilly performing at popular Dallas spots like The Rustic, Opening Bell Coffee, Lava Cantina and Box Garden at Legacy Hall.
