Starbucks Pushes the Limits With Its New Menu

After bringing back favorites from last summer – the mini Frappuccino and its S’mores flavor — Starbucks is giving its devotees another reason to make it a summer drink stop. The Starbucks’ new Sunset Menu is now available — after 3pm daily only. The exclusive summer-only menu is all about granitas and trifles.
The granitas send me right back to my childhood and those hot summer days spent at the neighborhood pool enjoying snow cones. This “adult” icy drink comes in three flavors: caramel espresso, white tea and strawberry lemonade. If you were begging mom for a snow cone as a kid, you could be pleading with a barista to make one of these cool drinks for you now.
If you’re anything like me, your chocolate craving starts to really set in during the afternoon. Fortunately (or unfortunately), the Sunset Menu offers the perfect tempting treat — a chocolate brownie trifle. It’s layers of warm brownies, whipped cream and a mocha drizzle. For the non-chocoholics, there’s a strawberry shortcake trifle featuring sweet vanilla scones topped with whip cream and a strawberry drizzle.
This is dessert in a cup — no coffee necessary. Things are certainly changing at Starbucks.
