The Must-Listen List: 15 Great Songs for Fall – PaperCity’s Hotel Sounds

BY // 10.08.15

PaperCity Magazine hits the stands with an evocative theme every month. From August’s “From the Ashes of Summer Rises Fall” to September’s “Glorious Decay” cover, every issue sets a tone that speaks of a certain feeling (or feelings). With PaperCity Sounds, we present a music playlist inspired by the month’s happenings, from fall fashion to society galas and balls.

With the busy fall social season in full swing, it’s good to take a break from the activity and spend some quality alone time. In the October issue of PaperCity Magazine, on stands now, Hotel Stories takes a whimsical (but highly sophisticated, of course) look at the inner life of a hotel through the eyes of a concierge. This month’s PaperCity Sounds playlist goes a little deeper – into what kind of music one might reach for while taking respite in a hotel room.

From the vintage, minimal R&B of Timmy Thomas, to Leonard Cohen and the Stones, we look back a bit this month, while still making room for Houston favorites The Suffers, Chicago crooner Jeremih, and Lorely Rodriguez, aka Empress Of, who just graced the Rudyard’s stage a few days ago, There’s also the nostalgic sounds of Italo-disco (via Portland) band Chromatics. Come in, have a seat, enjoy your stay, flip through the October issue, and listen to the sounds of Hotel Stories.
