DACAMERA’s gala Opening Night brings reigning international opera diva Joyce DiDonato back to Houston in the genre-defying production, Emily — No Prisoner Be. Created in collaboration with the uniquely virtuosic Time for Three string trio and an award-winning design team, this re-imagining of the poetry and life of Emily Dickinson has thrilled audiences from Europe to Carnegie Hall. A strikingly original take on a centuries-old musical form, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Kevin Puts (Silent Night) notes, “this is not your grandmother’s song cycle.”
