The Anti-Aging Test
A World-Renowned Skincare Expert’s New Line Targets Old Age —
By Tanya Foster //
I am asked to try beauty products all the time, but I agree to do so only if I feel they have something new to offer my skin. I just finished using ZO Skin Health skincare for two weeks, and I’d like to report my experience.
Dr. Zein Obagi, a board-certified dermatologist and world-renowned skin care expert, was behind the Obagi products until he sold the company. I was an early fan, particularly of the Obagi Blue Peel. However, those items were available only in a doctor’s office under medical supervision. Dr. Obagi has now developed ZO, a skincare line targeting anti-aging, and the products are available online and in your dermatologist’s office.
His products came to me via Dr. Lynley McAnalley, whom I see for various injectables. She uses them and encouraged me to give them a try. I immediately loved how rich they feel. I had previously tried the Advanced Radical Night Repair, which will cause an amazing peel after using it for two consecutive nights. (I listed it as one of the five things you can do to get glowing skin in this blog post.) Make sure you do this only once a month, however, because you don’t want to peel too often, and definitely stay out of the sun when you use it.
I tried everything, from ZO’s Normacleanse (cleanser for normal to dry skin) to the Oclipse sunscreen and primer, and really like their consistency. There are a lot of steps to the ZO line, so I suggest you make an appointment with Dr. McAnalley (or your dermatologist) and have her offer some recommendations for you. It is skin-specific, meaning you really should know which products you’ll need.
Overall, my skin feels protected, hydrated and much brighter. If you give the products a try, comment below to share your experience.
