PaperCity Kinkaid Interns

Each January, PaperCity hosts some of The Kinkaid School’s most talented students. During their two-week stay we strive to impart industry experiences that will enhance their education —but somehow they always leave a lasting impact on the PC staff as well. Here’s a #behindthescenes peek at this year’s shining stars.

Intern Sarah Lewis: “I enjoy taking pictures of food for my Instagram @Bigfoodies, hanging out with friends, reading and journaling. Ideally, in the far future I would own a small popular bakery in New York City. I am such a caffeine addict and love adventuring to different coffee shops around Houston. A few of my favorites are Croissant-Brioche, Cafe Brasil and Inversion.”

Intern Fatimah Lawal: “I’m actually a dancer. This is my third year as a member of my school’s Dance Company, and I am loving every bit of it. I really enjoyed meeting Monica Bickers, the publisher, because I thought it was cool that she went to Kinkaid as well. I feel like we really got to bond over that, and it was nice learning about her life story.”

Intern Georgia Arnold: “In 10 years, I will either be living in LA, Portland or Houston. I really want to be making art that has an impact on the community, just as the art in Houston today has had a huge impact on me. My favorite PC experience was having Catherine D. Anspon (executive visual arts editor) look through my photography website and my photos to give me constructive criticism. Her advice was invaluable.”
