A Detroit Power Gets Into Women’s Fashion
These Leather Bags Have Bite
By Alexis Bierman //
Combining that classic Americana aesthetic with a touch of femininity, Detroit-based Shinola — purveyor of handcrafted bicycles, leather goods and men’s watches — has launched its first line of women’s accessories, a 12-piece collection of timeless totes, wallets and bracelets.
Designed by Richard Lambertson and John Truex, the fashionable duo formerly behind Tiffany & Co.’s leather collections, the Shinola women’s pieces are crafted of leathers sourced, tanned and sewn in the United States. True to the brand’s ethos, the collection features a color wheel of neutrals, plus pops of cheerful springtime color courtesy of vibrant cobalt and bright orange.
Shop the collection ($195 to $995) at Shinola’s Plano and Highland Park Village boutiques.
