Fall Couture Fashion Week’s Most Stunning and Unexpected Looks

Fall 2017 Couture fashion week might have recently come to a close in Paris, but we’re still swooning over the ensembles that serve as inspiration for the upcoming fall social season. Here, a few of our favorite looks from the runways — from floral prints to metal roses, these designers never fail to leave a lasting impression.

Lebanese designer Elie Saab brought floor-sweeping gowns to his show. With gold embellishments on mesh fabric paired with gold crowns, Saab showed a more medieval side to haute couture.

Giambattista Valli ‘s collection featured haute couture that seemed more easily ready-to-wear, with pink and yellow pops of color, plus a variety of different floral embroidery and lace details.

Christian Dior designer Maria Grazia Chiuri showed her second haute couture collection with the French fashion house at the luxurious Hotel des Invalides, revealing a very gray palette. What stood out most? Eschewing heels, models wore ankle boots with their wrap-neck jumpsuits.

Another favorite is Iris Van Herpen and her new Aeriform fall collection. Van Herpen never fails to wow the audience with something astonishing and unique, like this sheer dress with roses made from thin metal. Van Herpen showed her pieces at Fall Couture fashion week while Danish underwater artists Between Music played their instruments and sang, well, underwater.
