A Special River Oaks Fashion Fest Ups the Glamour

Calling all fashionistas and design enthusiasts – Fashion X Houston is back for its third year. The three-night event will again take place in glamorous River Oaks District and will kick off on Thursday, October 4 with an outdoor runway presentation, featuring fashions from established luxury brands like Alice + Olivia, Akris, Etro and Stella McCartney.

On Friday and Saturday, October 5 and 6, local designers will present their styles on the runway, showcasing their unique contributions to the fashion world. Project Runway winner and Houston-native Chloe Dao, along with Dallas-based designer Abi Ferrin, are two of the many designers sharing their distinct and chic styles at the fashion frolic.

Fashion X brings a philanthropic edge to the weekend of glitz and glam. Four high-profile Houstonians will be honored for their personal style and for their philanthropic work. This year, Lori Raijman, Vivian Wise, Donae Chramosta and Alicia Smith take the spotlight.

A  portion of each night’s proceeds will be contributed to a charity of their choice. Thursday night’s honorees have selected their charities —  Raijman has chosen to donate to The Arts of Healing while Wise takes the runway for the Texas Legacy Foundation. Chramosta, aka the Vintage Contessa, will donate Friday’s proceeds to Crime Stoppers of Houston. And Smith is supporting the St. Bernard Project, or SBP, on Saturday.

Tickets range in price from $35 per individual ticket, to $250 for VIP tickets. Three-day Fashion X Houston weekend packages range in price from $95 to $600. Tickets are available here.

The full compliment of River Oaks District retailers are joining the party each night with in-store events that include all manner of perks such as specialty cocktails, gifts with purchase, gift card giveaways, special salon treats and even a complimentary henna tattoo, the latter from Planet Blue.
